Warning signs

Nice article on identifying the need for change on RedNova.

The five warning signals: minor defects, dissonance, serendipity, paradox, and boredom.

They will have doubts about the instrument used rather than about the theory behind it. They will ask Kepler to double-check his night observations of the sky, not question Copernicus's principles that are challenged by these observations.
