Warning signs
Nice article on identifying  the need for change on RedNova.
"Part of the reason that people and  companies don't anticipate or even respond to change is that, while the world is  changing continuously, the perception of such change can happen only from time  to time. We don't see the warning signs or, at least, are not aware of what  these signs imply."
 The five warning signals:  minor defects, dissonance, serendipity, paradox, and  boredom.
